After riding a bike for months to build back her bone density, Joanna was cleared for her cartilage implant just before Christmas last year and had the surgery in February. The surgery itself was much easier than the one she had in 2006, but the rehab will take a lot longer -- 18 months, to be precise. So she's only halfway there right now.

The good news is that she's still making progress, and her PT is confident enough in her status to release her to a home program. She'll continue to work on her strength at the gym at our new place and will work out at the PT clinic twice a week, so she'll still be there frequently in case there are any problems.
Meet the CPM machine, a continous passive motion machine. Joanna had to use this 4-5 hours a day for the first six weeks after the surgery. Wheeeeee!
Grace did her best to keep her company while she used the CPM.
