OUR NEW HOME |
|
|
|
|
|
After a four and a half day drive, Joanna arrived in Los Angeles to be present for the key exchange on 1/5. Our furniture arrived five days later (after our ceilings had their popcorn finish removed) and we were unpacked by the Super Bowl. We're not completely settled, but we're getting there... |

While we weren't too keen to go from a house to attached living again, we found a townhouse with more square space than our house in Oak Park. Plus, we're on a street with houses and there's only 14 units in the complex, so not too big. And we have underground parking and storage in the garage, so at least we don't have to worry about space. |

The entryway, with guest bath downstairs (yes, we went from 1 bath to 3 -- hooray!) |

The living room is much bigger than before, complete with gas fireplace, and it opens onto our new patio. We're hoping to eventually replace the sliding glass doors with doors that can be completely open, creating an indoor/outdoor living room. We'll see if that happens. |

Grace certainly enjoys the weather out here, and loves to catch rays on our patio. |

The dining room overlooks the living room and is complete with a fully stocked bar, below. |

The kitchen is difficult to photograph as it's long and narrow. There's not a lot of counterspace, but plenty of storage and a double oven. The back of the kitchen also houses our washer and dryer. |

The guest room is pretty big; there's room for the bed and TV plus our office and the new stationary bike, for Joanna's physical therapy. |

Both bedrooms are set up so that you walk through the bathroom to get into the bedroom. We're hoping to tile both baths as they are carpeted like the rest of the upstairs and we don't really like that. |

Like in the other bedroom, you have to walk by the sinks and shower to get into the bedroom. The difference is that we have a huge tub to soak in and a great walk-in closet (a wonderful change from OP, where Joanna's clothes were in three different rooms -- seriously). |

Our bedroom has really tall ceilings, which is probably why I had problems deciding where to put everything (as seen below). But I love our new sheets in here and it's nice to have a reading area again in our bedroom. |
