What are We Really Like?

Like all homeschooling families, we live normal, busy lives.

Carl has worked for State Farm Insurance since March 1987. He dreams of the
day when he can escape the city, the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, and move to a
simpler life in the mountains. He is willing to live a little more "simply" than the
women of the family. Carl loves spending time with his girls, teaching them the
Bible, coaching them in soccer and basketball, (from the side-lines), helping them
plant their first garden this summer, and looks forward to the Ozarks every
October.

Elizabeth teaches Latin in the local
MARCH Enrichment Co-op, is the newsletter
for the
North Texas Home Educators' Network, is one of the founders of SBCHEA
and co-moderator of the
Deliberately Christian Yahoo community.

Emily begins ninth grade this year, and is enrolled in David Quine's Worldviews of
the Western Word, taught by
Mr. Dana Tillman. This is a wonderful alternative for
homeschooling families, as the class meets once a week for three hours, and
includes public speaking, debate, and lecture. Emily's strengths are
Apologia
science and
math, which she does independently at home. She runs her own
business, studies piano and is beginning her eleventh year of soccer. Oh, she
also just became a member of HSLDA's
Generation Joshua!

Equestrian training, soccer, and
Younger Generation Chorus keep Elise very
busy, in addition to her
Ambleside Online Year 5 schedule. She loves to read,
write, and have fun with friends. Theatre Connections is her favorite co-op class.

Whoever said homeschooling families are not socialized, needs to spend just
one week with the Watkins family!
