The 360 controller has rumble but no tilt functions
The PS3 controller has tilt but no rumble.
For me this is a no-brainer ... I have no interest in tilting my controller a certain way in order to preform a function that could easilly be preformed with an analog stick.
The force feedback is so well used in games like Gears of War and Halo that I would miss it dearly if it were not there.
My vote goes for Rumble over Tilt any day of the week.

I'm posting this for 3 reasons...
1...It's the first XBox Live Arcare game for Bizarre since Geometery Wars
2...It's the first game for the Arcade by EA
3...It's a music based rhythm game that features hitting a certain button at a certain time, that will probably only cost 10 bucks at the most.
Sold.

I came across this video and thought it was pretty cool. I can't even wrap my mind around how they managed to make that happen.

Ok ... this awesome because some asshole driving an Audi Stationwagon (and probably paying way too much for it) desided it would be a sweet idea to drift all the way around a round-a-bout putting everyone else's lives in danger.
This once again proves that people who drive Audis are dumb.

Some guys took one of the endings to Return of the King and made it amazing. Randle from Clerks would have been proud.
Frodo: Aragorn!
Aragorn: Yeeeeeeeeah?

Ok...listen...
Few things in life are as important as extremely awesome game announcements. I love music games. I LOVE THEM. Guitar Hero 2 was my 2nd favorite game of last year. The only complaint is that there are only about 10 songs I like. Now take Guitar Hero ... and combine it with my love of 80s pop and hair metal ... you have the BEST GAME EVER MADE!!!
Let me say that again...
Guitar Hero: 80s Edition will be the BEST GAME EVER.
This has been confirmed by EGM and other sites and is slated for spring. My god ... I can barely hold my wad.

This movie was fantastic. I popped it in the other morning with the intention of having on the the background while I did my homework ... but I ended up watching the entire thing from beginning to end without a single bit of work getting done ... and laughing my ass off the entire time. The characters were cute ... but funny. The damn Steve Carrell squirrel cracked me up as well as the hedgehog kids. Hell ... Bill Shat was even great as the "overacting" opossum.
I recomend this movie to everyone!

f I had to make a list of the games that a person would have to play in order to become addicted to gaming ... these 5 would be on my list ...
5. Super Mario Brothers 2
This was the first game I ever beat from start to finish. And while I would agree that SMB3 was a better game ... its only flaw is that it came after I fell in love with Mario playing this game instead. The levels were both fun and challenging for my 8 to 9 year old self ... and I managed to beat Wart at the end with only 78 extra lives left. And yes ... I was pissed about the ending too.
4. NHLPA 93 for Sega
My love of hockey games started right here. DO any of you remember how awesome this game was? You were able to put yourself into the game for the first time and live out your fantasies vicariously through technology. Not to mention the 1-timer was the only way to score! Oh yeah... blood on the ice after fighting! Damn...memories.
3. Mega Man 2
This is almost a perfect game. If it weren't for the fact that if you die in Wily's castle you have to start at the beginning or if you waste a crash bomb against the 3rd boss in the castle you can't win ... this may be perfect. I'm aching for this game to be remade with updated graphics like they did with Mega Man X. This game got me into the action / adventure game and pretty much any Mega Man game that followed.
2. Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past
Epic. This game was truly epic. From the very beginning of the story to the very end ... this game does not bore you. I also felt that the edition of the dark world made it seem like there was a whole other game packed in. The story was amazing and the master sword in the 4th dungeon added an amazing game play aspect to the game. This is the cornerstone title on the best system ever released.
1. Resident Evil 2
Ok ... why not Resident Evil 1? Because RE2 took what was great about the first game and multiplied it by about 50. It had hoards of zombies and other creatures, a creepy atmosphere, real scares, and amazing plot, and if that wasn't enough ... you could play the game 3 more times through and it was almost completely different! The voice acting was still great
and cheesy ... and it really set the bar for all games that followed it. Because of this game ... the RE series is my favorite series of all time. Let me put this in perspective ... if RE5 was going to be a PS3 exclusive ... I'd drop the $600 on that god damn system right now just to play that one game.
Some honorable mentions: FFVIII, Super Mario World, Halo, DDR, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Kombat 3

The virtual console is finally starting to gain some value in my mind. The cost of the games aside, they are finally releasing some games in the U.S. that I actually want to play. Mario Kart 64, the original Mario Bros, and a Link to the Past to name a few. It is bought damn time.
Oh yeah, it also has Contra 3 and Gunstar heroes, which are actually really fun games and overlooked in their own time.

Since Podcasts were brought up in another forum I thought I'd make a space where we can talk about what podcasts we are listening to and why we like them (and what we don't like)
By the way Chad, podcasts are cool, they are free, entertaining, often funny shows that you can listen to anytime, so I don't see what is ghey about them...
What I am listening to....(in no particular order)
1 Up Yours: I like it because it is funny, but sometimes it is WAY too hardcore...I.E. too much time talking about RTS, PC, really technical or business crap. Plus because they are soooo hardcore they are Wii haters and they can bite me....
2 EGM Live: This is my fav. video game ones. It's not as funny as 1 up but they piss me off less (I agree with them more) and I care about more of what they have to say.
3. NPR's Wait Wait...don't tell me: A news quiz show game with comedians. It's very funny and a less boring way to hear about the week's news.
4. NPR This American Life: Human interest stories, sometimes told by humorists. Sometimes funny, sometimes moving, sometimes bizzare. Stories have included a woman getting attacked by a rabid racoon, and a man arrested on a plane over a clerical error
5. The Wiire: A little amueturish but funny and good for Wii specific news
6. Meet The Press: An audio version of meet the press, which i never have time to catch on tv
7. Grammar Girls quick and dirty tips....a good resource for writers. Deals with sticky grammar issues in short (less than 5 minutes) and entertaining installments.
8. Mars Hill Bible Church: my church's podcast of sunday teachings by "world famous post-modern pastor" Rob Bell...a whole new (actually ancient/old) perspective on what Christianity is and should be.
So whaddya you guys listening to?

Rob and I were watching Jeopardy the other night and there was this chick on there with the funniest laugh I'd ever heard in my life. When I first heard it I could barely contain myself. Here it is in all its glory.

I know it is a tad bit late ... but I went to the Auto Show down in Detroit a couple of weeks ago with Rob and the two lovely ladies Ellen and Sarah. We had a lot of fun. It was the first time I had ever been to the Auto show and I enjoyed it quite a bit more than I thought I would.
Here are some pictures of the sharper looking cars at the show.

As far as favorites go ... I picked a couple of the more practical cars as my favs.
First off ... if I ever get to the point where I can afford a 40,000 dollar car ... I really want one of the new GMC Sierra Denali Pick-up trucks. It was a huge truck and it was sharp as hell.
http://www.gmc.com/sierra/denali/index.jsp
2nd ... my convertible choice was the Saturn Skyy. It was hot as all get-up. That’s the one Rob is sitting in the picture set

I was also a really big fan of the Camero Concept (The orange one) and of course ... if I had $80,000 to burn on a car ... I’d go with the Hummer H2.

They have alot of add-ons for Heroes on the internet. All of you know of the comic on the website, but they also have put up a website for Mr Bennett's fake company in the show, Primatech paper. The site, www.primatechpaper.com looks very general on the outside, but it you go the "About Us" section and click on the RNA symbol it will come up to ask you to enter a username/password. If you enter bennett, then claire(spelling?) for password, you will log in and if you get codes you can see special profiles on some of the Heroes and some you havent seen in the show yet!! The codes are hidden on the different official heroes sites and on the show, so dorks like us unite and let's get all that we can.
Man, I love that show and am such a dork!!!

One quick question ...
Why didnt Sylar kill Mr Bennett at the beginning of the episode???
I actually have come to really enjoy Mr. Bennett's character, but it still baffles me that he didnt kill him, when he could of easily done so. I mean Mr. Bennett(coupled with the Haitian) is the only person(group) that has been able to stop Sylar.

I bought Blue Dragon yesterday, and I can tell you right now that I'm just pissed off with it.
It's not what you think though, I didn't actually play the game. You see, my firmware mod doesn't cover regions, so this Japanese-only game doesn't play on my American 360. Does that hump? Yeah, that humps.
I have to take it to Joshin now, and get whatever amount of money they're going to give me for it. I'll probably actually break even though, because I bought it yesterday at Den-Den Town, a place in Osaka where electronics and (some) games are mega-cheap. I got Blue Dragon for about $36, when it sells at Joshin in Sakai (the part of Osaka where I live) for about $68. That's like half-price!
The game is 3 DVDs by the way, and I really want to play it. I don't think I'm going to dish out the dough for a Japanese 360 though, so the game may have to wait.
I'm dissapointed though.

Ok ... I've only seen The Karate Kid once ... but I came across this video in hopes that it would be an awesome Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat montage ... but I was not disapointed when I realized what it was. Check it out and suffer through the first minute or so ... it picks up and is an awesome song too.

(Pulled from some website)
With the launch of the PS3 and Wii 3 months behind us, we've taken a look back at those launches and as well launch of the 360 and tried to come up with a set of new rules for the next major console launch. Let's be brutally honest here, this round of console launches was not a pretty one, as people were robbed, shot, and one person even died (albeit during a stupid radio stunt) trying to get their hands on a new console. Honestly, the only real winner in the situation was eBay as they made a truck load of money off people selling their systems on their auction system.
In coming up with these commandments we tried to keep them based in reality. Ideally everyone who wants a console after it launches should be able to get one but the laws of supply and demand just don't work that way. That said we have tried to have a some fun with the commandments and they should be taken with tongue firmly in cheek.
1. Thou shall not force us to kill for your system, thou shall have at least 600,000 units at launch
Look we know it's hard to hold units as you want to get them out the door so you can start making(well, losing) money on the hardware. Resist this urge and instead make sure you have enough consoles so that people don't have to wait in line for days or pay exorbitant prices on eBay to buy your console. Instead wait until you've got at least 600,000 units on hand so that almost everybody who wants one on launch day can get one. Sure, there might be a shortage for a while afterwards but make sure that everybody goes home happy on launch day.
This will also help increase attach rate as there won't be as many eBay scalpers who are trying to make a little money on eBay. This means more money in your pocket from accessory sales. This also makes your game developers happy as they will have more time to finish their games as well as providing them with a larger customer base to sell their games to. It's a win-win for everyone.
Eliminating world wide launches could helps this. Do you really need to launch globally? Sure it looks cool on a press release but there's something to be said for using one market to build buzz and generate hype for the others. Of course as an American I can say that because we get everything first and the only console waiting game I've had to play was for a DS Lite so take that with a grain of salt.
2. Thou shall have enough accessories to go with the system
If you've got the hardware you should have all the extra components people need to play your system with friends and family. This includes extra controllers, video cables, and memory cards. Sure the Wii had nearly enough units at launch but it's damn near impossible to find extra Wiimotes, Nunchuks, and component video cables without having to buy them off eBay. This is inexcusable given the family, multi-player nature of the system. I know predicting sales for a system is a bit of a guessing game but it is frustrating to have such a great system and not have the components necessary to play with friends and family ...

I don't know if anyone can make that claim with perfect games like Castlevania: Symphony of the Night still out there, but this game is pretty fuckin' close.
I've put in more than 10 hours into the game, gotten 2 different types of endings, and just conquered the hell out of it. I can tell you one thing...it's VERY worth buying if you have a DS.
At first the play mechanics seem a little gimicky, but once you get used to everything, you're free to enjoy the best castlevania experience in probably the last 7-8 years.
One final thing that makes this game great is the story. It's got a hell of a story, and in no way does it disappoint.
Even better than Dawn of Sorrow, which was pretty damn good too.
Next up...Mega Man ZX.
