Class Election WebQuest
Parents and Teachers: A WebQuest is an activity in which students use pre-determined Internet resurces to solve a task.  This WebQuest was created to aide second grade students in learning more about the election process.  Through this WebQuest, students will learn about and establish their own campaign teams.  These teams will then select a candidate and run their campaign.  Student will learn about the election process by developing campaign commercials and campaign flyers for their candidate.  Students will also participate in a classroom blog.  A blog is a place where students can have a discussion outside of class.  This blog will post a general question about the election process.  Students will be respond to the general question and then to their classmates responses.  Only second grade students and their teachers will be allowed to view or post responses on this blog.  It is not open to the public.  Through these discussions, students will develop their candidates campaign with the other members of their team.  Student material will be uploaded to their candidates site for other classrooms to see.  When all material is completed, an e-mail will be sent to the school's classroom teachers asking them to review the information with their class and vote for whom they think should be the next second grade class president.  Any student material used for this project will adhere to the Arkport Central School District's Internet policy.  Students identity will not be revealed.
