| Eric Theis' Dungeons and Dragons |
| Seems like I've been playing D&D forever. I started probably 30 years ago, when my brothers and their friends started playing at our house. "That's stupid," I thought and said. But as many D&Ders know, I was soon drawn in. We started playing before with the original paperback pamphlets. I remember it being a big deal when the "BlackMoor" pamphlet came out. Years later, dissatisfied with the Dungeon Masters (DMs) I'd played with, I started my own world. I wanted to make the kind of world that I would want to play in. Some 25 years and a couple hundered games later, I'm still at it - occasionally. We had a game going every week for a while. But that became too much so we went to every two weeks, then every four - and then I got busy teaching and it pretty much died out. Once a year or so I make time to get everybody together and have a game - usually on Thanksgiving weekend. I've played from the paperback pamplets, transitioned to 2nd Edition, then (last year) to 3rd Edition. I have not yet attempted to incorporate V3.5. I play pretty vaniilla AD&D 3.0, not allowing most of the plethora of exotic stuff everyone seems to publish - although I'm starting to reconsider that. My latest 'House Rules' (my customizations to the game) are here. Check the verson number and date - they get updated yearly. This should give you a feel for what my world and my game is like. Players in my world make their own maps - so finding some is real treasure. One player has put some of the maps and knowledge they've acquired on the net here. My wife Dana usually tries to take notes during the game, and writes them up afterwards. I find these make very entertaining reading. I've listed all the game notes files I could get my hands on below. I'm not sure about the dates on some of these. Enjoy. 93-04-17 93-05-15 93-06-19 93-07-24 93-08-31 94-01-29 94-03-05 94-04-09 94-05-21 94-06-25 94-07-30 94-08-01 94-12-04 95-01-21 95-02-25 95-03-25 95-06-11 97-03-12 03-11-26 04-10-03 04-11-27 05-01-01 05-06-18 05-11-27 06-02-29 |
