6. Secretary

The secretary's role is to manage the day to day communications of the ogranization, schedule and announce the meetings of the board of directors, quarterly members meetings and special members meetings.  The Secretary is a member of the board of directors and reports directly to the Chairman of the Board of Directors.

This position is primarily to foster records keeping, communications and ogranization of the SLBT's communications. 

In this role, the secretary is responsible to:

- Schedule all meetings of the Board of Directors and Quarterly Members Meetings
- Apon written request from the Chairman of the Board of Directors, schedule special meetings
- Maintain detailed minutes of all meetings
- Send notices to the group
- Send, collect and maintain the results of any votes held by the directors or members
- Direct complaints issued by the members or other parties to the proper individuals / project groups
- Ensure accessiblity of the board of directors to the SLBT as a whole
- Act as the chairman for any meetings that the Chairman of the Board of directors asks the Secretary to preside over.

The Secretary is a role that is assigned by the Chairman of the Board of Directors from the current members of the Board of Directors.  If the Secretary wishes to resign, they must give two (2) weeks notice to the Chairman and facilitate the knowledge transfer required to the new assigned Secretary.  The Chairman may at any time dismiss the Secretary from his/her post with no less then one (1) week's notice.
