What Lem is....
People. People caring about helping other people out in NS. Standing up for their views in the face of opposition. Listening fairly to other points of view.
Community. Building a community among a large, diverse group of NS players and making it work. The idea of Houses plays into this. (especially if the revamped idea goes through) Communication is also a large part of this. If everyone is in the community, then everyone needs to talk to each other.
Why Lem?
It should come as no surprise, the first was the people. :) How could I resist them? Currently my NS family mostly resides in Lem. *hugs* to all of them.
Second, the chance to DO something. In TNP I always felt like I could never do anything. Too many people, too much history, too much work. Whatever. Here I feel like I actually can have input into the process and help with it. That feels good. So I stick with it. I want to see the beautiful product that we can all make together.
What should Lem look like?
I think there's several aspects to Lem. First. The Houses. Their purpose has gotten shuffled around so much that we don't really know what they are yet. But I think I really like the idea of making them back into arenas for NS play. For whatever aspect of play you're most focused on, you can pick a House. Somewhere to congregate with people that share your interests. And to work together towards common goals.
Second. The government. We've spent an insane amount of time on the Constitution. Trying to get it to work. And it comes out at a hefty page count. But I think it could work. Maybe. :P But seriously, I think the way we're structuring the government makes a bit more sense then just having sorta random Ministers. I really like the Regional Security Council idea. If we're going to have a defense force, then we should have an active Council to promote that and manage it.
Third. Forums. Lemuria is heavily based on the Forums. Houses will have their own stuff in them, we'll have governmental stuff. I want to see a News section, an active OOC section, a RP section, all the stuff you could possibly want from a NS site. :)
