Here's a picture of me and my family at my cousin's wedding reception, the summer of 2002. From left to right, we have Me, my mom, my dad, my brother, and my beautifullittle sister in front. We're all a lot prettier in real life, but this was the most recent family picture that I could find. Interesting peice of trivia: My purse in this picture is made entirely of duct tape. But anyway, my parents are really great. They didn't even kill me that one time I short-circuited the electricity in my room. They're very supportive of my interest in the Middle East and Arabic and sometimes they even laugh at my jokes (yes!)
This is the sixth member of our family, our Sally in all her fluffy glory. She's a shetland sheepdog and I just love her to little bitty bits. She's very affectionate, but also very loud. I swear, she can smell "invisable bad guys" through concrete, and I am convinced that she is smarter than she looks. If she wanted to, I'm sure she could recite "The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner" from memory. Interestingly enough, no one in my family hardly ever call her just plain, "Sally." Oh, no. We have a long list of nicknames, most of which range from sweet to just sickening. When I tell people how I usually talk to my ickle pumpkin puppykins people start laughing. Mostly she's just "Sallikins" however.
Now I'm going to talk about my little sister. We all love her. This picture was, needless today, taken quite a while ago. This one is a classic. You can tell that the fountains of baby barf are about to be unleashed. Thank goodness she doesn't do that any more! She's turning 14 in March, and enjoys watercolors, making pies, and most cooking shows (When I was home for Christmas, she got really mad at me when I changed the channel from the food channel to watch The Two Towers extended version for the fifth time in three days). She's also a fantastic seamstress and is great at math. Don't make the mistake of thinking she's a completely serious person, though. She and my brother are quite the pair when they're both in a silly mood (and I only say that out of the deepest affection for them both). I get a big kick out of her, espcially when it involves teasing her about her hobbitness.
And then there's my little brother. We all love him, too. He likes to play computer games and warhammer. He's the family stand-up commedian. I think he could be the next Robin Williams if he wanted to be. He does a great Igor impression. He's 17 now, so he doesn't have that cute baby hair afro any more (Alas!). My favorite things involve teasing him for just about anything I can think of. This includes his love of the Japanese Language and all that it implies, and poking him when he least expects it. I could tell you so many stories from when we were growing up, but he'd probably skin me alive for that. Every so often he will come out and mention something I did to him when I was seven and he was four...

Wake up call. I totally need one of those.
Nice Orcs Two orcs (both my brother) decided that they were fed up with the whole "killing machine" stigma so decided to set up a support group.
