This page is dedicated in memory of my first real tractor. It was an Allis Chalmers D-17 Series IV. We had the tractor at home for 6 years from 1995 to 2001. It was used primarily for clearing snow in winter plus misc hauling jobs around the place.
Sadly it wasn't in the best of shape. It was in need of repairs that I was unable to provide. The primary reason the tractor looks so rough is because the roof of the shed it was in last winter caved under the weight of the snow. Most of the repairs were needed under the hood.
We sold the tractor in November of 2001 and replaced it with a snowblower. I know it was sold to a good home and it will be well taken care in the future. I'll always miss the tractor, even though it often gave fits about starting and occasionally liked to die for no reason in the middle of the highway. Someday I hope to be able to again have an Allis Chalmers or an older tractor, but for now I cherish the memories.
