US SKI & SNOWBOARD TEAMS November 2009 ALPINE Men � Women � CROSS COUNTRY DISABLED Alpine � As the Paralympic season neared, the alpiners found great snow for their annual camp on Austria�s Hintertux Glacier. Thirteen athletes � but club athletes and coaches who pushed the total group to about 40 � focused on giant slalom and slalom training. Cross country � Athletes head to West Yellowstone for their annual fall on-snow camp Nov. FREESTYLE Aerials � Aerialists are focused on dryland training, including weightlifting, pilates and running, and hipe to train on snow in Canada. Next World Cup is mid-December in China. Moguls � Athletes have been training on their own, but the moguls team is finalizing plans for on-snow training based on weather. NORDIC COMBINED Dryland training was the order of the day as the Ski Team got set for the Nov. opener. SKI JUMPING Olympians Clint Jones and Tommy Schwall (both Steamboat Springs, CO) and Alan Alborn (Anchorage, AK, but who trained with the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club in the mid-Nineties) will jump in the World Cup season-opening weekend in Nov. After that, Coach Corby Fisher will sort out who stays on the World Cup and who moves to the Continental Cup circuit. SNOWBOARD The World Cup season continued with a halfpipe contest in Saas-Fee, Switzerland,leading up to the first North American competitions of the season. US Ski Team RSS- XML

![]() 2009 Winter XI Games XIJanuary Aspen, Colorado The 13th annual, free-to-the-public, winter action sports competition features more than 230 athletes from across the globe competing for medals and prize money in the following sports: Moto X, Ski, Snowboard, and Snowmobile. GEM returns as the Sport Organizers for all of the skiing events once again, which will include Skier-X, Slopestyle, Superpipe. Duties include course design, athlete selection and competition execution. GEM will also be assiting with the Boarder-X competitions www.globaleventmanagement.com |
