Chevrolet hopes to
jump on the bandwagon of reengineering old classics. Many car enthusiasts
wondered for the past 9 years when Chevy would come out with the new Camaro.
This is the year for that! Chevrolet chose the Chicago Auto Show to debut
its Chevrolet Camaro concept. This car has 400hp and sports the Corvette's
C6 LS2 V-8 engine. This "concept" is not far away from reality.
Last produced in 1997, ten years later it is rumored that this concept
is actually in early production for 2007 to mark the Camaro's 40th anniversary.
Dodge already made
a huge market on the modern Charger and this year debuted its new Charger
named SRT8 Super Bee. This is also known as the "Charger on Steroids."
This Charger has the Hemi V-8, producing 425 horsepower and 420 pound
feet of torque. The 2007 Dodge Charger SRT8 Super Bee is capable of 0-60
mph in the low five-second range. The original Super Bee made its debut
in 1968 as an upgraded package. Dodge also is resurrecting the Challenger
concept. This Challenger concept is powered by the high-performance 6.1-liter
Hemi V-8. Styling cues on the new concept are modern interpretation of
the original 1970 Challenger, including the full width front grille, a
pair of round headlights, raised rear fenders, wall-to-wall taillight
and rectangular exhaust tips. |
