AUTOMATED UNDERWRITING programs are an important tool that lenders use in the loan processing and approval process for conventional, FHA and VA loans. We use the latest versions of programs based on national underwriting models, either Fannie Mae's (FNMA) “Desktop Underwriter (DU)" or Freddie Mac's (FHLMC) "Loan Prospector (LP)".

These programs are computer models which analyze borrower qualifications and risk factors like job time, loan-to-value ratio, income ratios, credit history and credit score, etc. and provide results in a written rating and recommendation report to the underwriter who reviews the loan documentation and makes the final loan approval decision.
