a very strange week. . took these pictures around monzennakacho on wednesday.
the other side of the river is kayabacho and tokyo central.

thursday night was a belated surprise birthday party for luke. there was about 30 people at a restaurant in kameido. everyone got extremely drunk very quickly, and there were people strewn all about the place vomiting on each other and lots of helping people who couldnt walk. dorothy threw up in the cab. the cab driver wasn't happy and wanted 8000 for the clean up bill. after dragging dorothy out of the cab, luke jumped in and asked that they go down to the cop shop to see what the cost would be. he returned half an hour with the usual smile on his face and a funny story about the local donut eating pc's. we had already missed the last train so we went to a karaoke joint in kameido to push on till morning. luke got his gear off as usual and danced about like a crazed german to the tune of ACDC's back in black. jim's rendition of 'eye of the tiger' waxing lyrically about the virtues of being an A.T. was hilarious.
have been doing lots of sticker runs lately with the tag 'bleed' handwritten in red paint pen on sticker paper. the happy bunny above got one on his forehead. serves him right for being so happy.
soiree at tatsumi's place on friday night to talk about the next liquid polka event. should be great. grant and jake have started a band to which tatsumi and i are gonna do some stuff with. i really want to get some more robot puppies, i got a new idea. met a guy who has a japanese band called 'junkie chan' - theyre playing on the 21st next month, will try and check them out. another girl who makes these awesome wooden lamps. so beautiful and creative. the japanese aesthetic is so much about surface and texture and quality of craftsmanship. she had this wooden ring that she had carved and finished herself. was cool. tatsumi and kayoko are awesome, im so glad i know them.
am reading a cool book at the moment that grant lent me called 'moon palace' by paul auster.
bought a printer today - a canon pixus 320i. 11,000 yen.
i need it for my next illustration gig for black and white.
a sterling weekend - karaoke in shinjuku for johnny who is back off to australia - brisbane no less - to study music. johnny's a legend. met a cool artist - simon check out his site here pulsplus when its up . ..

saw movie the other night called american cousins. heartwarming cliche cheese - 2 italian mafia guys played by equally cliched b grade sopranoesque 'hoods' come to hide out (chased by surprisingly cliched ukrainian mafia hoods with scars and woollen hats) and visit their extended 'family' who happen to be fish and chip owners in scotland having issues with whether they love each other or not.
follow this with frankenhooker - awesome flick but stupid ending. spellbound was cool - documentary on american child spelling bee champions.
a rousing affair in hirai this evening with grant, jake and ayoko. they have just bought a new korg vocoder and dr sampler. played neogeo handheld listening to them sample flash gordon and soft cell. took these photos of signs and things on the last train home. kinshicho is where i work - its maybe the biggest town in the area before akihabara. lots of department stores and hostess bars. there was a strange man blowing steam near the bus stop.
just started watching spellbound - looks good.

last night was ace. met up with grant and mike and johnny and nat at la fabrique in shibuya for vanity. mink engine and stockholm film group were playing. yesterday it snowed all day. was bizarre.
