Ronnie Polkinghorn was Marshall's Uncle, yet only a few months older. As the boys grew up together they became close whilst Marshall and Debbie were in Detroit yet drifted apart when Marshall was forced to move. However, the boys still remained more like brothers, and Ronnie introduced Marshall to rap music. He gave Marshall the 'Breakdance' soundtrack and introuduced him to the world that Eminem has become a part of.
This was all destroyed for Marshall on December 13th, 1991, when Ronnie commited suicide with a bullet to the head whilst sitting in his car, supposedly because of his current girlfriend. It really hit Marshall badly and Marshall didn't leave his room for weeks, eat sleep, gave up rap and could'nt even bring himself to go to the funeral. However, Ronnie's memory made Marshall more determind to succeed in the world that was determind to bring him down. |
