Background History:     
Being a mythical beast his 
origin is clouded in secrecy. Even he doesn�t know where 
he came from.  He started out as a mount for a noble 
wizard who use to read while he rode.  The wizard was 
farsighted so he cast a spell that let the book hover 
away from him and his mount.  Gus found he could read 
the books also, but never told the wizard.  The wizard
disappeared one day leaving Gus alone.  He got board 
standing around so he began summoning books on his own.   
He was thrown out of the stables when his master had 
failed to pay the rent so he went looking for the man.  He was 
unable to find out what happened to him so he went 
out in search of adventure.

UPDATE:  He found his adventure, when he came upon Elen and the Guardian,
one thing led to another and he is now the young elf's tutor.  Or one of them
anyways.
