Welcome To My Studio!
It's not the prettiest, fanciest, most well-equipped
place in the world,
but I like to call it home!!
|
This
is what the table in my kitchen looks like when
I do my beading......quite a messy little thing,
isn't it! |

|
This
is the torch I use now. It's called a minor burner,
and it uses a surface mix of oxygen and propane
to melt the glass rods. |
|
These
are the oxygen (left) and propane (right) tanks
that we use for the torch. You'll notice that
each canister has a regulator on it to control
the flow of gas to the torch. |
 |
Didymium
Glasses - something no one around here at the
local welding stores had ever heard of!! I got
this pair on e-bay for a really good price! I
don't fire up the torch without them. |
|
|
Here is the glass that I use.
It's made in Italy, but I buy most of it at
the local stained glass shop here in town.
I have recently started buying
more glass online, because you can get it by
the pound and it's a bit cheaper that way. Now
that I'm getting familiar with the names of
the colors I like, it makes it easier to buy
in bulk because I know what I go through the
most of.

Here is a close-up of the bead he's working
on.
|
This is my husband, sitting at the torch while
I'm sitting at the computer typing this up.
I'm sure he wasn't thrilled with me taking
his picture while he was busy "burning
glass" as he calls it.
Oh, well, that's what a wife is for, I guess!
