Vision Statement:

To share, enlighten, and prepare people across the globe to better handle and understand the dynamics of A.D.H.D. (Attention Defecit Hyperactivity Disorder)

What is A.D.H.D.

ADHD falls into three different categories: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.

This has six basic characteristics for diagnosis:

  1. Not finishing jobs
  2. Not paying attention

    6. History of A.D.H.D.

Physicians have been challenged for a while to define ADHD.In the past, they believed that ADHD was a disorder of inattention with episodes of hyperactivity and impulsivity caused by poor parenting.Currently, ADHD is thought to be a central nervous system (CNS) disorder.Below, it shows important facts in the understanding and treatment of ADHD:

    7. in 1902, Morbid Defect of Moral Control
    8. in 1922, Post-encephalitic behavior disorders in kids
    9. in 1937, Amphetamines introduced to treat hyperactive children
    10. in 1956, Ritalin (methylphenidate) introduced
    11. in 1960, Minimal brain dysfunction
    12. in 1968, Hyperkinetic Reaction of Childhood (DSM-II)
    13. in 1980, Attention Deficit Disorder +/- Hyperactivity (DSM-III)
    14. in 1994, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (DSM-IV)
    15. in 2002, Strattera FDA-approved
    16. Key Fact: The term used in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR) diagnostic criteria is ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) with or without hyperactivity is the older term from the DSM-IIIR.
