What is A.D.H.D.
ADHD falls into three different categories: inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
Inattention
This has six basic characteristics for diagnosis:
- Not finishing jobs
- Not paying attention
- Not following directions
- Being distracted very easily
- Not listening
- Making careless mistakes ol>
- Overactive talking
- Disturbing others by interrupting
- Fidgeting
- Having trouble to wait their turn

Hyperactivity-Impulsivity
Usually, hyperactivity and impulsivity are combined together with five basic characteristics for diagnosis:History of A.D.H.D.
Physicians have been challenged for a while to define ADHD.In the past, they believed that ADHD was a disorder of inattention with episodes of hyperactivity and impulsivity caused by poor parenting.Currently, ADHD is thought to be a central nervous system (CNS) disorder.Below, it shows important facts in the understanding and treatment of ADHD:
Key Fact: The term used in the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV-TR) diagnostic criteria is ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder).ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) with or without hyperactivity is the older term from the DSM-IIIR.
