.Nov 11: We traveled the remaining 200 miles to Summerfield Florida were we had reserved a week at Southern Oaks RV Resort   We figured we would use that time to look at other campgrounds and find where would be able to stay for the winter.  After one night and some heavy thought, we decided this was as good a place as we had seen and we booked four months here.
We are looking forward to spending some time with Johanne's Aunt Peggy.  And, enjoying some warm sunny winter days.
.Nov 26: Aunt Peggy had a ticket to a stage show for "Louis Prima: That's My Dad".  Prima's daughter Lena Prima doing a reprise of her fathers music, with video's of her late father with various stars of the 50's and 60's.
The ticket was for her friend Arnie, who recently had bypass surgery and would not be able to go.  I was very grateful that I got to see the show.
.Nov 10: Our stay in Aiken, SC came to an end.  We were anxious to move on.  We got a late start because the mail we were expecting had not come. Several phone calls to the post office and a trip down.........NO MAIL.  So we will have it forwarded here.  So, late start but off we went.
We spent Saturday night at a nice campground called
Happy Acres Resort, in Screven, Georgia.  Yes, the spelling is correct, Screven.
.Oct 27 continued: In all our travels, we have seen miles and miles of corn fields which anyone that lives in Connecticut is somewhat familiar with.  However, during our travels we have learned about and seen soybean and cotton fields. I have been absolutely fascinated by the cotton fields and curious about how it is picked.  The thought that a hundred plus years ago it was all picked by hand.  Finally today I stopped on a country lane and looked closely at the cotton plants.  They actually look like puffs of cotton balls.
.Nov 23: We celebrated Thanksgiving with Aunt Peggy at her sister Jeanette's and her husband Fred's home.  Also there was Jeanette's son Steve, daughter-in-law Colleen and their two girls Kaitlyn and Madison.
Great food and fun playing with the girls in the yard....still missing our Great Grandchildren back in Connecticut.
.Nov 25: At the invitation of our fellow Escapee's volunteers, Al and Shirley, we drove to Mt Dora (about 50 miles) to join in the towns Christmas celebrations.  The center of town was blocked off and there were food stands and many, many people had brought chairs, as we did, and had set them up around an outdoor stage.
At 5PM the entertainment started,  An Elvis,  children performing the Nutcracker, a choir and, of course, Santa.
After dark the Christmas lights were  turned on.
.Dec 03: Johanne and I bought tickets to the Bowser Show.  She saw it a couple of times at Mohegan Sun Casino and now I had a chance to also see it..
      Bowser,
Jon Bauman, was the lead singer of Sha Na Na a couple of decades ago.  He is still popular and it was a surprise to me....he is also a terrific classical pianist.  A product of Juliard School of Music in NYC.
Also performing in the show was "
Little Peggy March". She was big in the sixties, in the US and also around the world, especially Japan and Germany.  Her most well known number one hit was "I Will Follow Him"
We had a great time, as did a packed audience of senior citizens
