.July 3rd: Eureka Springs, AR a very touristy town, with many shops, restaurants and points of interest. The entire downtown area of Eureka Springs is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The old Victorian homes, many restored. As part of the Ozarks it is not surprising that the town is very hilly. We bought all day passes for the trolleys. They have colored routes that take different courses, but all start and end at the downtown terminal. Johanne and I took the "red" bus through its entire route and the second time around we chose a stop that was high on Center St. so we could walk downhill as we looked in the shops and find a place for lunch.
. For anybody that is familiar with Turkey Creek...this is the new activities building that is under construction. Since our arrival the cathedral ceiling was sheetrocked, windows and doors installed, lights hung. Also contractors have come and blown insulation and the electricians to hook up the power feed. Also scheduled is the installation of the central air. Leon is reportedly going to build the cabinets at Livingston and will install them later this summer. It's going to be nice. But that's not all, they are going to increase the number of sites and convert some existing 30amp sites to 50amps.
June 14th: Branson..........finally! This has been near the top of our list of MUST places that we have wanted to visit since we started our full time RV life. We arrived at the Escapee's Turkey Creek RV Village and settled in. As of today we have been here for two weeks and have seen four shows and explored the area in and around Branson.
. Now, about Branson, the scenery here is great. Rolling, green hills, enormous lakes, winding roads. Many, many hotels, motels, RV parks shopping of all sorts, restaurants galore and ENTERTAINMENT! Entertainment includes water parks and rides but mostly it is all the shows. But, the weather has been HOT, HUMID and frequent rain and thunderstorms. Whether this is normal or not we can not say, but it certainly reduces the positives about this area as does the extremely congested roads. For the entertainment we have so far been to see, 1: Acrobats of China it is amazing what the human body is capable of. 2: Jim Stafford country singing interspersed with humor and his very talented teenage son and preteen daughter. 3: Baldknobbers slapstick country humor and singing in the original Branson show. 4: Broadway a musical and dance salute to a variety of plays that made it big on New Yorks Broadway. We will be here until July 9th and expect to see some more shows before we leave.and there are a lot of them. I am including a link to a list of all the shows for anyone that may be planning a trip to Branson.
One of the biggest attract-ions to the Eureka Springs area is The Great Passion Play performed evenings, outdoors from late April until late October. And, one of the most visited sites in the Ozarks is the Christ of the Ozarks Statue. Seven stores tall with a 65 ft arm spread. There is also a Bible Museum, Sacred Arts Center, a Museum of Earth History and a restaurant

Below is a picture of the shuttle, but on the hillside is a picture of the Cliff Cottage Inn. I just happened on this site when I was researching Eureka Springs. I was fascinated by the story of Sandra CH Smith the owner and Innkeeper of the cottages. Read especially the Your Innkeeper.
