At the end of May we again moved out of the Care Center's volunteer row and this time we moved over into the regular Escapee's park while we finished our doctor's appointments
Done with the dentist after four visits.....whew!
Our visit to the doctor at the beginning of May had some tests show questionable results for both of us which prompted more tests and a couple of visits to a urologist.  Ultrasounds, CAT scans and, for me, an unpleasant males only test that showed only an enlarged prostate.  This is common in 65 year old men.  But, as a result of the test I wound up with Prostatitis, an infection of the prostate. Fever, chills and so on....a call to the urologist, a return visit and a mix of three antibiotics for ten days and I am recovered.
But, Johanne's CAT scan was more ominous.  She was told that she has an "aortic aneurysm" and was referred to a cardiovascular doctor.  After a somewhat anxious wait for the appointment, we were relieved when she was told it was
not serious but should be checked in another year to see if it gets any larger.
May 14th: I chose this bicycle as my birthday present and thank you Lyn for the gift to help pay for it.
And, in the mail I re-ceived a coffee mug from Adrianna, with her picture and the words.......

" I LOVE YOU PAPA"
on the other side and Johanne received a
We got onto I-30 and continued on for half an hour to the town of Hope, AR (birthplace of President Clinton).
The town park has water & electric in open fields and for $15.00 you can spend the night. There were only a couple of other RV's and it was quiet.
Next morning we traveled less than 100 miles to the infamous Hot Springs, AR.  This is where President Clinton grew up.
We spent two nights so we could tour the area and especially the famous "baths"  We stayed at
J & J RV Park at the edge of town.
The owner was extremely friendly and the park was half empty.
T-shirt for mothers day with the same picture and...........

"I LOVE YOU GREAT GRANDMA"

This is the picture. It is of Adrianna in her Easter dress, with hat and gloves.

Of course this is the one thing that makes us homesick, missing her growing up.
Gratefully her Grandma Patti and Grandpa Craig are having their turn.
June 11th: After more than three and a half months in Texas the day has finally come to get "On The Road Again".  All packed up, tires and engine checked and our bill paid, we went over to the Care Center to say our final good-byes.
The town of Hot Springs is a part of the National Park Service and has a rich history.
The area was part of the 1803 Louisiana Purchase and soon started to draw people that realized the health benefits of the hot springs.  By 1832, then president Andrew Jackson declared the Hot Springs area a "Federal Reservation" later to become a part of the National Park Service when that was created.  This makes the Hot Springs the oldest N.P., even predating Yellowstone which claims the title of first National Park in 1872.
Johanne and I found an empty parking meter, fed it some coins and strolled bath house row. The area is neat & clean, the sidewalk is lined with many Magnolia trees which keep the sidewalk shaded and cool..
We stopped at a little fountain just outside the
Fordyce Bathhouse and I curiously but gingerly touched the water. I said to Johanne "that's hot" so she had to touch it and then I got a lecture on how dangerous it is for a child that might do the same!
Heading to Branson
..   Our first stop was planned for a Passport America listed campground and motel in Texarkana, Arkansas.
I dare you to look at the website and tell me that it doesn't look like a very nice place to live or just spend the night.
Well, we drove in and right back out again.  A dump if ever you've seen one.  And there was no way that we could have fit into what they call RV parking.
