Ella's Second Home is a family daycare facility for children 0-4 years of age, serving the Inner Sunset neighbourhood of San Francisco, California.
Mission Statement
At Ella's Second Home daycare, we believe childcare is an important extension of a child's family. By responding to the needs of children, we help them develop skills physically, cognitively and emotionally to persevere in any environment. Our program provides families with the luxury of flexible hours where children play in multiage level groups in a structured yet child centered setting to help children develop a sense of self in a supporting and nurturing environment.
History and Accreditation
Ella's Second Home opened 15 years ago and the facility is directed by Ella Ehrlich. Ella holds a B.A. from Moscow University, as well as 25 units in early childhood education from City College. Ella is a participant in the Comprehensive Approaches to Raising Educational Standards (CARES) program. Through this program Ella maintains a commitment to continuing studies and professional development.
Ella holds a site supervisor permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC). Ella's Second Home was a participant in the Gateway to Quality program. Through this program the daycare received a $5,000 grant in Fall of 2007 to purchase new toys and supplies for the facility. Ella is a member of the Family Childcare Association.
Ella's Second Home is licensed for 14 children.
