This Web site is about Zimbabwe's First Lady of Boxing Promotions, Lorraine Muringi.  As a woman in sport she has managed to accomplish the following milestones: 

1. Licensed by the Zimbabwe National Boxing Board of Control (1984)
2. Licensed by the African Boxing Confederation - ABC- ( was known as the African Boxing Union  (ABU) 16th October 1986
3. World Boxing Council Public Relations Representative to Zimbabwe (July 1991)
4. Zimbabwe Institute of Sports Coacher & Administrators (September 1993)
5. Women In Sports Zimbabwe, Founder Member and President (1994-1996)
6. Public Relations Officer of the ABC (1996-1997)
7. Registered Boxing Promoter with the World Boxing Council (November 1997)
8. Appointed IBF/AFRICA Co-ordinate and Commissioner to Zimbabwe (October 1999)
9. Appointment as the Chairperson of the IBF/AFRICA Championship Committee (May 2000)
10. My personal milestone:

I left my Comfort Zone and broke through the Glass Ceiling.  I found the air no different than the air we inhale just out side the door to the Boy's Club.  At times I found my achievements  superior to that of my male colleagues and I was welcomed as an asset to the fraternity.  I would like my experience to be an asset to  other members of the female gender as an example that you can reach the sky if you believe in yourself . 

I would also like to thank all the gentlemen along my path that welcomed my contributions to the sport of champions.
