Welcome to Annie's Room

at elisabethann*s

Looking around my home you never would guess that I never had a Raggedy Ann or Andy when I was growing up. When I was a teenager my mom mentioned that she had always wanted a Raggedy Ann. So I had a mother of one of my friends make a Raggedy Ann just for my mom. I sewed the red "I love you" heart on myself. While I thought that the Raggedy Ann I gave my mom was cute, I really didn't desire one of my own. How time can change a person! ;-) Several years ago I was at a garage sale and a woman was selling some of her childhood Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls and other Raggedy items. Those cute little faces were just calling out to me and needless to say all of her Raggedy things went home to live with me. I am always on the lookout for those sweet little faces when I am at thrift stores or garage sales. I don't have a huge collection but I love them all...whether older Knickerbocker or newer handmade...they are all special to me. Most of my familyroom/kitchen area is decorated with Raggedy items...and they really go along with my red, white and blue country color scheme. In case you didn't know it, Raggedies are great huggers too!

Here are some photos showing how I have displayed some of my Raggedies in my home.

Big Raggedy Andy holding Ann are sitting in an antique highchair.
Two homemade Raggedies sit on an old step-stool.

Three Anns sit in an old 7-UP crate.

Here are photos of some of my favorite Raggedy dolls & items
