Barn and Snow

This painting, like most of the others, started with a sketch done on location during the summer months. In the studio I did a few compositional studies in pastel but as an autumn scene - the original lacked color. When I began the painting I became intrigued by the contrasts between the color and the pure white of the unpainted areas. The result is the winter scene you see here.
