The Imperial Prognosticator

     Workers within Ghoere returned to work after negotiations for their returns were met.  It speaks highly of the Baron's new regime that this did not become a military matter as it would have been in the Ghoere of the past.  We, at the Prognosticator wish the people of the Barony of Ghoere economic success.

     The Baron of the war ravaged Dhoesone took a visit to the Rjuven realm of Stjordvik.  The Prognosticator cannot but hope that this means that some measure of safety is coming for the people of Dhoesone.  The writers of the Prognosticator can only hope so.

Guild and non-state temples that trade or conduct business within Medoere will now be required to make a tithe to the Theocracy of Medoere of one third there profits made within Medoere. All groups concerned have one month to comply with the tithe anyone who has not made arrangements with the Theocracy will be penalized. The tithe will be used used to defend the land and improve the lives of the people of Medoere.

     This month within the Duchy of Elinie, Duke Gaelin Elinie, invested High Hierophant Miara of the Life and Protection of Avanalae as the Regent of Elinie.  This surprisingly development after the our reports of strife between the young Duke and Hierophant has shocked much of the Eastern Basin States, and primarily no doubt, the citizens of Elinie.   This was further made formal when Priest Kreegan, Representative of the Life and Protection of Avanalae in the Imperial Court made this formal statement to the court:

”Your Eminence, lords and ladies of Anuire, in this month within the Duchy of Elinie, Duke Gaelin Elinie has granted High Hierophant Miara of the Life and Protection of Avanalae with the stewardship of the Duchy of Elinie, all it holdings, and all its lawful citizens, indefintely. As such the High Hierophant now ensures the course and direction for Elinie and she looks to the future for the Eastern Marches and Anuire. The High Hieorphant and the Life and Protection of Avanalae wish the Duke safety in his travels, and that he will safely return home soon.”

  To the people of Elinie, the High Hierophant made the following statement from the steps of the Temple of the Sun, Ansien:

”People of Elinie, the Duke has not abandoned you in your time of need, nor has he left you unguided or wanting.  He has left inspired to make things right and to atone for things that he has done and failed to do.  I am proud of him for it takes the greatest humility and personal conviction to attempt to atone for ones failures, no matter how slight, and it shows great wisdom as a ruler to see to it that your people are cared for in your absence.  My fellow Eliniens, we are a strong people and when the Duke returns he will see how much we have grown and prospered still though he was absent. We have much to do here in Elinie and I cannot do it alone.  I need your strength, intelligence, devotion and spirit...with these things we are indomitable, undefeatable and the truly faithful of Avanalae and Haelyn. There are many things that I will begin instituting for the Duchy of Elinie while the Duke is gone. First and foremost, every season I will address you, the people of Elinie, from here, the steps of the Temple of the Sun, to inform you about the current affairs of the state, so that you might know what is happening in Elinie and might take a more active role in our development.  Secondly beginning this month Elinie will begin construction of a Great Workshop.  This workshop will act as the backbone for our future and present construction projects which include the general fortification of Elinie.  We will also be considering the formal requirement that all citizens of Elinie serve a brief stint in the service of Elinie.  This is simply done for the mutual defense of the Duchy of Elinie.  Lord Eldried will be formally placed in command of the armies of Elinie save the Knights of Avanalae which will remain under the leadership of the Life and Protection of Avanalae.  I hope that through the wise administration of Elinie, with the support of Lord Eldried and you, the citizens of Eline; we might become a beackon of light in the east and within the Empire. I pray that you, all nobility within Elinie will work with me, and the Life and Protection of Avanalae to accomplish these goals.”

     It is rumored that soon after the ceremony of investiture, Duke Elinie was seen riding from the capital, Ansien, to an unknown task and destination...we pray for his safety and safe return if this rumor is true.

    Reports from all over Anuire seemingly tell us that pirate activity all across Anuire is on the rise.

     From the North, ships from Andien Imports and Exports were attacked by a Galleon bearing the crest of Thurazor and captained by a human.  When the trading fleet escape that very ship raided Bjondrig in Dhoesone and, just after that, the same province was raided again by a caravel manned by men from Rjurik.

     Along the West Coast, a caravel of the Cruaiddruinn raided Bayside, Taeghas.  It was the impression of the Prognosticator that the sidhelien people did not make caravels, though it seems that the Cruaiddruinn is an exception in many things. The province of Islien, Taeghas, was also pillaged by a caravel under the banner of Stjordvik   We hope that this is not a precursor to wars soon to be fought.

     An odd clarification was decreed all across the lands where the Holy Order of Haelyn's Aegis is operating.

"The church of Haelyn's Aegis hereby states that it has no intentions to separate the province of Danaroene from Roesone. Those spreading such rumors are mislead by those who want to bring chaos into order."

     The Prognosticator must only wonder what wild and unfounded rumors are flying about to warrant such a formal dismissal of rumors.  It must be a grandiose misunderstanding.
