My Helmets
Viking helmet from a find in Gjermundbu, Norway
I have been making replica helmets since I started doing re-enactment in 1986. I figure I've made or helped with about 25 in this time.
A Carolingian helmet - based on Frankish illustrations from the 9th to 11th centuries
A helmet of the "Great Polish" style - from archaeological finds.
Anglo-Saxon helmet with engraved brass nasal.
9th century Russian helm. Very pretty decoration.
Helmet based on 7th century finds at Vendel in Sweden
A helmet from fairly early in my career - engraved nasal
Silly Crusader helmet from the turn of the 13th century AD.
