EXCELLENT FRIENDS SOCIAL CLUB OF NIGERIA ON THE OCCASION OF HER 4TH ANNIVERSARY CUM SEMINAR 2003. The Director of Social Services, R.S.G. The Honorable Guest Speakers, Members of the Academic Community, Representatives of Distinctive Professionals, Delegates From the Various Clubs and School, Excellent Friends� Members, Distinguished Ladies And Gentlemen, It is with great pleasure speaking to you in this epoch making occasion. Today, we are celebrating our fourth year of existence as a club as well as show casing three distinct lecture series to the benefit of the city public. These lecture series on health, business management, law and polities have the following themes. HIV/ AIDs and its inter- relations with STDs. Total Quality Entrepreneurial Management Practice in Commercial And Industrial Business Orgaizations.The Right Of A Nigeria Citizen in A Democratic Nigerian Setting. These club excellent friends social club of Nigeria, Port Harcourt headquarters came into existence on 9th may, 1999 with a handful of individuals who took it upon themselves to promote extensively the affairs of the club. Today, the club is four years and seven months old with not less than seventy responsible, active and dedicated gentlemen. Not only has the club been operating with the legitimacy power of the rivers state government (R.S.G), it is now at its final stage of the legitimacy test of cooperate affairs commission (C.A.C),Abuja. You will believe with me that the cardinal for the establishment of a social club are to promote mutual understanding, love, peace, and unity among men and to encourage charitable, benevolent and philanthropic activities among the people of the world. Nevertheless, excellent friends club goes beyond these frontiers by arranging and organizing studies, teaching, seminars and discussions to promote social awareness to her members and to the general public within and beyond the national boundaries. The journey has just started. For quite sometime now , we have been studying the incessant parties pervading in the air of Port Harcourt City at the end of each year. We then felt that such parties are clumsy, flamboyancy, ego- centric, and despicable and we decided to think of a unique, practicable and an all/embracing public edifice. Therefore, it is on this connotation, we conceptualized this progamme tagged excellent friends anniversary/ seminar 2003,� and your participation here today is a living testimony to this great event. However to add more glamour to this occasion, we had to invite forty clubs and associations, four selected private and government school, and state government ministry of women affairs and youths developments to come and grace the occasion and benefit from it together with our members. In external award. After assiduous screening and dialogue exercise, we have to select Lady Florence Home and we decided that we should donate a 21� coloured television for the viewing pleasures of her disabled members. Also, we decided to play lottery to help some people and with only N50, you could just smile home with a 14� coloured TV, a V.C.D. player standing fan or a consolation prize of N 1,000. This is great, isn�t it? The club performs her constitutional roles by attending both internally and externally organized gatherings, Membership of this club cut across professional boundaries. As Excellent members, we are self- determined and self-disciplined. We observe to the letter, the rules on social correlation ships among diverse people of the world irrespective of race, creed, religion, or tribe. We live within the tenet of our national legal provisions and above all, we have the fear of God in us. Infact, Excellent friends social club of Nigeria is more observed than said. Since an organization is like a human being with diverse life problems, so it is applicable to Excellent friends. Our problematic areas are: 1) Permanent secreteriat: There is a high cost of living standard in this city. The process of land acquisition here is very cumbersome and expensive. Therefore, we wish to use this radium to appeal to the state government and authorities that be to come to our aid in this regard so that we can acquire a land where we can erect our secretariat. 2) Transportation: As a club, we embark on a lot of internal and external traveling activies. We appeal to the government, individuals, and organizations to come to our aid by providing a coater bus to us enable us tackle some of our transportation problems. 3) Funds: Like every other organization, lack of funds at times deter us from not executing some of our laudable ideas and programmes. This event today estimated at No.8 m to execute. We therefore, appeal to each and every one of you here to assist us financially through your appreciation�s. We are appreciative of the leadership styles of our executive council members and ask god Almighty to always guide you all in your chosen genuine endeavours. we thank members of the organizing committee for their dedication and untiring efforts to see that this programme is a huge success. Worthy of mention here, are the lecturers who left their various engagements and took up the challenges and prepared these good edifices for the consumption of the club and the general public. God will reward you all tremendously. To remain evergreen in our memory is Barrister Cosmas Enweluzo whose inspirations and support enabled us to achieve this mark.. Also, all the clubs, schools, associations, and individuals that are here to honour our invitations, we say may God bless you all. Finally, we thank Excellent members for their supportive roles individually and collectively. We hereby extend our membership invitations to those of you with good, reputable and God fearing conducts. Wishing you Merry Xmas and Happy New year in advance.
