| David Unsworth's Testimonial Everton 0 Athletic Bilbao 1, Goodison Park, Saturday 10 August 2002 |
|||||||||||||
| Seven days before the start of the new Premiership season, David Unsworth was rewarded for his loyality to Everton with a testimonial match against La Liga side Athletic Bilbao. 'Rhino' first joined The Blues when he was 13 years old. He made his first team debut aged 18 during the 1991/92 season when he came off the bench to score Everton's equaliser in a 3-3 draw at White Hart Lane. David has seen many highs and lows during his 10 years at Goodison Park. He's played his part in a couple of successful battles against relegation, came within an inch of a UEFA Cup place in 1996, and of course was an FA Cup Winner with the Blues in 1995. Baring his reluctant season with West Ham, and a very brief spell with Aston Villa, Unsy has spent his entire footballing career wearing Everton's royal blue jersey. Long may it continue. |

The Blues went down 1-0 with a goal by Ismael Urzaiz just before half time.
