Nil Satis Nisi Optimum
Aston Villa 3 Everton 2, Villa Park, Sunday 22 September 2002
Everton fought back brilliantly from two goals down at Villa Park only to be denied a point by a Dion Dublin strike in the 84th minute.

The Blues were two-nil down after 46 minutes. Lee Hendrie scored an early goal in each half and it looked like it might be a comfortable three points for Villa.

But Everton didn't give up and struck back almost immediately. Tomasz Radzinski turned the Villa defence inside out and shot a low drive into the corner of the net.

The equaliser came on 65 minutes and was almost an exact copy of the winning goal against Middlesbrough eight days earlier. Thomas Gravesen swung in a near post corner and Kevin Campbell rose highest inside the area to nod it home.

But all the hard work was undone in the 84th minute when substitue Dublin's scrappy winner made
it a miserable trip home along the M6 for the Evertonians.
