YOU ARE THE
SES
The State Emergency Service has been a major part of of lives for over 10 years now. David joined the Blue Mts unit in 1993 before transferring to Wollongong in 1996, while Leonie has been part of the Wollongong unit since 1995. While Aleesha-Jayne, Samantha & Ethan have been members for their entire lives.
GEOCACHING
Geocaching is a high tech way of participating in a treasure hunt.
Everyone that plays in this worldwide addictive sport uses a GPS and a few basic observation skills to find hidden treasure. The treasure or cache (as they are referred to) are hidden by geocachers, who post the given coordinates on the web. Other geocachers retreive the coordinates and using their GPS find the hidden cache, exchange a small novel item and then return the cache to its hidding hole for the next finder.
The Rats started geocaching back in 2002 and just recently we celebrated our 1500th find. We've certainly been to some far and wide locations due to this crazy game.
OUTDOOR ADVENTURES
We are lovers of the great outdoors and at every possible chance we try to get out of the house, generally jumping in the 4WD and heading bush.
If thats not enough fun we love to go camping, bushwalking, caving, abseiling or geocaching together.
We always try to explore a new location and have rarely visited the same place twice.
We're a member of a local 4x4 club which has seen David get involved in 4WD competitions. If he's not competing he'll be there as a spectator
