GEOCACHING
We first stumbled across this crazy sport of Geocaching in December 2001, about the the same time the Christmas Fires were scorching Sydney and the caches in its path. From our first find to this current today it certainly hasn't taken long for us to become addicted to this sport of geocaching. It not only has taken us to some beautiful and previously unknown places, but we have met a whole new group of friends.

The 'Rats' are so hooked on Geocaching that we have hidden over 40 caches of our own and have gone onto find over 400 caches throughtout Australia.
Our First Caching Experience
With a borrowed GPS and a bag of SES goodies we were off to 'Train Spotting'. "How hard could this sport be? Somebody hides something and we find it". A piece of cake we thought. Well as everyone knows, not evrything is as easy as it first seems. There was plenty of sweat, blood and energy exuded on that day and all for the sake of an ice cream container full of goodies, but thats the sport we've grown to love.
Memorable Caches
Every cache has been memorable, but some have that special something that makes them stand out from the others. Whether its the location, the difficultly or simply a 'first find'. Soem of our more memorable ones have included:
Drop Dead Gorgeous     Oasis              The SINK                     Claustrophobia
Obsured by Clouds        Isaac's Rest     Sydney Winter Picnic     i! 007
Grounds of Pleasure      The Maze        Sleepy's legacy              Dangle
Now where is that cache hidden
Our family of Travel Bugs
Our family of Travel Bugs
Our family of Rats started with old man 'Ses' . He left the family in search of fame, fortune and food.
With the thrill of adventure hot in the minds of 'Ses' siblings, it wasn't long before
'Robby' 'Rejected' and 'Rex' left home in search of their own adventures. The time has finally come where Mumma Mouse has packed her bags and is off in search fame and fortune. We wish all our Rats the best in their travels.

Mapping Software
The Rats choose to use Garmin MapSource software, cheatisearch, oziexplorer and anything they can get their hands on for finding and setting all caches.
