The Bonfire of the Vanities, starring Tom Hanks
Of course the book is better, but it's not that disappointing. I thought the five-minute tracking shot of Bruce Willis in the beginning is brilliant. There are also two gentle moments in this film that were not included in the book: Sherman's (Hanks) meeting with Fallow (Willis) in the subway, and Sherman's talk with his dad. But I don't understand why Fallow was turned into an American. He was supposed to be British, commenting on American culture. There are also moments in the films that border on the absurd.

The ending was the ending I had expected while reading the book. I liked it.

La Visa Loca, starring Robin Padilla
I was surprised by Padilla. He was effective in this film. I still couldn't believe it.

A thousand times better than "Crying Ladies", which truly disappointed me.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe
Reviews said that the pacing was languid, the talking animals silly at times, and the Christian undertones too obvious. I thought it was perfect. I left the cinema very satisfied. They even pulled off the appearance of Father Christmas, which I initially thought would make me laugh. What can I say; I believed every second of it.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
The funniest, so far, in the series, but not as stylish as Cuaron's HP3.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, starring Johnny Depp
Wacky. I never laughed that hard in any kid film ever. I fell in love with Willy Wonka; Johnny Depp deserves all the Oscars in the world.

Advent Children
I don't play FFVII, but I thought this film is great. I've watched it ten times, and I'm still not bored with it. Very Zen. Very emotional and sensitive. And what great hair.

King Kong, starring Naomi Watts
This is a classic, so I didn't expect to feel any emotional connection with the big gorilla. And I didn't, sure enough, but I watched it for the effects, and for Jack Black, who didn't disappointment me.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose
Interesting. Great script. But it was too open-minded to be considered a horror film (which I believe is escapist in nature). I didn't like the Virgin Mary's excuse for the whole possession business, for one.

Edward Scissorhands, starring Johnny Depp
Only Tim Burton could pull a movie like this off. I fell in love with Edward.
