| And so our heroes continued playing around. But as luck would have it, once more our Zen Troop would be faced with adversity. Mike, the other remaining original member of the band had been growing weary from working a day job, playing at night and worrying about returning to school to finish...in other words he was burned out both mentally and physically. Add to that the fact that he felt he had outgrown drumming and wanted to expand musically to play keyboards and guitar and finally after a gig at Danny's place on July 20th he broke the news to Beto & Rene that he would have to step down. So once more the search was on to complete this Fellowship of Music. However, Rene just happened to know a talented fresh drummer whom he used to play with in his previous band, Ginger Hung Low. So, exit Mike stage right...enter Danny Gonzalez stage left (shown in the pics above at a gig @ Lagoonas for Halloween 2002). Unfortunately it was not to last since Danny ended up having to move to Denver Colorado. So our heroes took a break to find the next addition to the ZEN legacy...and enter Mando (Continued) |
