Fayose Donates Building to OlivetGovernor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has once again demonstrated his love for the development of education and humanity by donating a block of classroom to his Alma-Mater, Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo. Dr. Fayose who commissioned the building project on Saturday at the school premises during the 60th anniversary celebration of the school said he has directed that another block of classroom be constructed for the school. He also donated N2million fund raising project for the infrastructural development of the school. Speaking with newsmen at the occasion, the Governor explained that the gestures were to appreciate God�s favour in his life and to contribute his own quota to the development of his former secondary school. Dr. Fayose had earlier express his unhappiness about the decadent infrastructures in the school, which, he said, he saw about three years ago when he was in the school to collect his certificate, stressed the need for all and sundry to assist the school develop. The Ekiti State Governor said he had discussion with Governor Rasheed Ladoja of Oyo State, who was also in Alumnus of the school on how to assist the school regain the old glory. Dr. Fayose stated his commitment to the development of education and informed that his administration�s effort in Ekiti State, has within a year, repositioned the State from 35th to 14th position in the WAEC rating. His Oyo State counterpart, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, who was a co-guest of honour with Fayose at the occasion assured of his administration�s support in ensuring that the school regained its old glory. Governor Ladoja said that his administration would re-introduce Boarding system into the secondary school education systen in the state as a way of enhancing academic excellence with effect from next academic session. He commended the gesture of Governor Fayose and donated N10 million to the endowment fund on-behalf of the Oyo State Government. Earlier, the National president, Olivet Baptist High School Oyo Old student Association Dr. Ayo Ojo, who noted that the 60th anniversary celebration was the most colorful ever, thanked Governor Ayodele Fayose for donating a well equipped and furnished block of classrooms to the school. Dr. Ojo who disclosed that the building project was completed within three weeks described it as one of the miracles of Governor Fayose and charged others to emulate Fayose�s philanthropic gesture. | |
