"Silverbirch" was based off my own experiences at an exclusive summer camp in the States. For years, college studentÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂs summer employment has been working at various camps across North America. Many people have views on these exclusive camps and the privileged campers that attend them. After spending time with these children, and the staff of international students, I thought it would make a wonderful story as so many people have had the ÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂcamp counsellorÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂ experience. Silverbirch follows the lives of 14 lively and colourful counsellors, 6 lovable and diverse campers, the intense and driven camp director and her put-upon dedicated assistant. During the summer the counsellors learn as much about themselves as the campers do, and the camp director learns that there is more to life than camp. |
