| JUMP!, written by Kerri Leier and concieved by Tracy Fritz and Kerri Leier, is the first co-production between Edalene Theatre and Groove Dance Company. Produced by Jean Steeves, this the tale of high school angst worthy of a John Hughes Brat Pack Film. Underneath the drama and catchy 80's tunes, is a tale about self realisation. The show revolves around one zany semester of high school, when the girls from Fairview Academy are forced to attend the all boys school-George Downing.Attending George Downing is our Hero-Zach Potter. Zach has been trying to work up his nerve to ask his best friend Phillipa on a date, hoping that once summer ends the boys would be too busy with school to pay attention to Phil. His plans are dashed when the schools combine and Phil starts to gain the attention of a certain cheerleaders ex boyfriend. Along with these two angst filled teens are a group of rebels without a cause, a band of jocks, some preppy glee club students, the token cheerleaders and a few awkward geeks. Ruling over the school is a very uptight vice principal, who is the former principal of Fairview Academy, and the laid back hippy principal of George Downing. Set to the catchy beats of the 80's, JUMP! is an event you don't want to miss! Performances are March 29th, 30th and 31st at the Al Whittle Theatre. For more info email [email protected] |
