Well, hello, everyone. I am pleased to say that, according to popularity ranking, this site is already #3 out of the many, many Science Fiction / Fantasy sites in the Geocities member page directory, third only to a fantasy site (which, by the way, is actually a front for a perverted feminist porn site describing itself based off of a society of female slaves and their endeared sexual masters), and published author's personal web page.
Right this second, I must confess I'm not writing in my stories so much as I am working on this page; and watching Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I have an excuse, however: I am having a lot of doubts about what good fiction is. Is Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover really as good a novel as I think it is? Is Dune a little bit boring, all in all? Or, is good, gritty real-life storytelling best? I'm trying to figure out just what I want to write about, despite my myriad story ideas; I'm desperate for an outside answer.
Please tell me; should I write an action-packed science fiction/fantasy novel? Should I focus on short stories with intriguing, complex themes and philosophy? Or, should I rethink things and write something subtely magnificent, like Dune...? Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Welcome to the newly consecrated science fiction realm, Echoes. This is a place of literary collaboration, sharing, and a place for fellow writers and artists to gain appreciation, and better their stories and various projects through the process of mutual criticism and study. The site is still under construction, so please be patient.
On a progressive note, the layout is beautiful and the stories that I'm writing are coming along well; they'll form an excellent foundation for the Echoes archives. Chasm: The Thraxus Chronicles is my science fiction masterpiece (excluding my novel in progress, Echoes, which will not be revealed for several years); think the setting of Creed's "One Last Breath" music video with the style of Frank Herbert's classic, "Dune".
If anyone has anything they'd like to have posted on this site (short stories, artwork, articles on misc. topics), then email them to me at [email protected]. -- Alex Kane, author, senior editor, and webmaster
