of the Oil Age Lecture Series
ecco London is organising a series of
lectures with invited prominent experts
on alternative, sustainable energy
processes, such as wind energy, solar
power, hydro power, tidal power, bio
fuels and fuel cells. The first speaker
was David Still on wind energy. A lecture
by Hermann Scheer, an expert on solar
energy is scheduled for the Summer Term.

a member of the German parliament and as
president of EUROSOLAR, an independent,
non-partisan platform promoting

elections

In
our constitution we have committed
ourselves to electing a new board for the
next academic year by the end of March.
We already encourage you at this stage to
think about possible candidatures. The
current board largely consists of masters
students and will therefore have to hand
over its post to new people. Much of the
administrative hurdles associated with
setting up the society have been taken,
and the organisational framework is set.
It's a great opportunity for motivated
people to actively engage. Available
positions: chairman, treasurer and
secretary.

ecco workshop
Does
moving polluting industries to developing
countries solve or create environmental
problem?

David Pearce is a
professor at the department of economics
at the University College London and
teaches courses related to economics and
the environment. He has published over 50
books and co-authored over 300 papers.
His research interests include
environmental economics and public policy
analysis. This will be the second lecture
organised by ecco in London!
