See the Photos. April 21, 2002: Erwin scored games of 158, 150 and 107 to help Cayelle defeat Manila Strikers 15 - 9 last Sunday. His three games average of 138.33 is his highest series record so far, a far improvement from his 118.65 points per game average in 46 games. He now totes 5873 in 49 games, for an average of 119.86. See photos. The match took a dramatic turn in the 10th frame of the third game in the match. Cayelle's overall lead was wiped out due to the decreasing intensity of the players in the third game. Erwin , who has consistently backed Lynn and Rene's efforts, lost his touched. But this slack in scoring was picked up by Edith who scored 148 points, backed by 29 points in the last frame (2 strikes + 9). She actually put CAyelle on top again and Rene preserved the lead by saving a spare. Rene scored 9 points for his first ball in the 10 th frame and has to hit the pin #10 to give Cayelle a chance. At this point, Manila Strikers was ahead 2845 - 2843, but they have completed their games. Everyone was focused on the second ball of Rene, and Cayelle rejoiced when the ball took down the pin. Score: 2845- 2844 for Manila Strikers. Rene had to score at least two pins in order for Cayelle to get the overall points. Rene, who previously scored 7 straight strikes, felt the pressure and his ball went to the left. The ball swized through two pins, which also brought down three other pins! Victory at last! 2.
