PRANAYAMA

Prana is a subtle omipresenst primal energy in our universe.

Pranayama is often misunderstood in the west as breathing exercises. The word literally means control (yama) of the life energy (prana).

The word broken down into two parts it means: Prana means Lfe force -Yama meaning Control.

PRANAYAMA breathing exercises are the link between the physical and mental disciplines of yoga.
Because the breath, body and mind are so closely linked, a change in one immediately affects the other two.

By developing the control of your breath you can bring about beneficial changes in your body and mind.
The breath unifies mind and body and helps in relaxing into the various poses of yoga.

Every force of energy is based on prana. The magnetic force of gravity, electricity, radio waves, even our thoughts are examples of prana. There would be no life if there was no prana.

Prana is the soul of all life force and all energy. It is in the air that we breath, but is not the air, it is in the food that we eat, but it is not the food, it is the life giving benefits we recieve when we take our vitamins, but not the vitamins, it is in the water we drink but not water itself. They are all mere carriers of prana.
The more relaxed you become, the more flexible you will become.
