The Eastern Wolves was started by a group of military historians who have a great deal of re-enacting experience and were looking for something different to get into. Seeing that most MilSim Airsoft teams tend to portray US/Western Special Forces to varying degrees, we decided to make our team a quasi generic Eastern European/ex-ComBloc unit with our main focus on portraying soldiers of the Republika Srpska Army.
Our goal is to not just be a group of guys wearing different camouflage and carrying Kalashnikovs, but to also use authentic tactics and commands that differ from their Western equivalents. The unit we are loosely based on, the 2nd Podrinje Brigade, was a light infantry unit in the Vukovi Sa Drine (The Wolves from Drina River) infantry division. The tactics they used often involved smaller groups of infantry operating without or with very little heavy support which is indicative of Airsoft. Also the unit and their location offer the prefect setting for common MilSim scenarios.
All that being said I would like to stress that we are not a Paramilitary group, nor are we affiliated with any such organizations or politics. We are simply a group of people with a passion for history and a new found love of Airsoft.
