Earthcup's Poetry
Pain

Do you feel pain deeply?
it can ache and bend like
writhing souls
dark holes and pulsars
don't exist only in outer space
but within
emotions die and the pulsars throb
until only a black hole is left
to suck and strive
twisting your spirit
until  sudden breath
sets it free
and healing begins
Pirates

rising from a sea of bark
a pirate ship emerges
equipped with crazy gadgets
and a crew of half-wild urchins

their rule is wild abandon
overboard parents all aghast
they're swinging on the monkeybars
and climbing the topmost mast

but the setting of the sun
brings drooping curly heads
the pirates captured, one by one,
to be tucked into their beds
Poetically Challenged

Carpe Diem
I wake early
Grab a muffin and cocoa
Jump in my truck
Carpe Diem
Make my hair curly
Singin' carols and actin' loco
Wearing charms for luck
Carpe Diem
Talk like Liz Hurley
Drink milk and mocha
Spend my last two bucks
Carpe Diem
Moon so pearly
Wonder why John married Yoko
Lift my soul outta the muck
Carpe Diem
Rape

you don't have to touch someone
to rape them
you use the expressions of freedom
the ones they keep hidden away
the ones they sob out in their despair
and mock them with them
make them feel guilty for
having problems, emotions
dreams of a different life
without you
later you wonder
how they could have had such a headache
(heartache)
that it took a bottle
full of pills to relieve it
Red Clay Country

the orange-red soil
stains all it touches
there is no myth
explaining it's color
no one ever glorified
a bloody war
with a legend of the red clay
no fairytale
of love or trickery
featured the everpresent
heavy orange earth
the buzzard made the mountains
maybe he knows why
the dirt is red
Sculptress

I wish I was a sculptress
that my hands had the talent
to take your face of fire and passion
and give it a twin of smooth, white marble
