Web Sites For Some Of My Favourite Bands
Ash
 |
The official Ash website - www.ash-official.com. The site is cool, with the first
minute and a half of pretty much every Ash song ever to download (mp3s which downlaod v.quickly)
and the first 30 seconds of all their videos. The site is all done through macromedia flash,
which while making it look really good, it means you need flash to do anything on the site - if
you don't have it check Internet Essentials for someplace to
download it (its worth it) or else try visiting this unofficial Ash page
www.geocities.com/alternator_team/ASHPAGE.HTM.
|
Foo Fighters
 |
The official Foo Fighters website -
www.foofighters.com. It takes a while for images
to preload but it looks really good and its a really big site with more being added all
the time.
|
Green Day
 |
The new official site -
www.officialgreenday.com/ - is now up and running
with loads of sounds and flashy effects and looks very cool.
|
Rage Against The Machine
 |
Their official website - www.ratm.com. A very political
site from a very political band, feturing aswell as the usual bundel of music clips and photos
a freedom fighter of the month section and a page of links to sites of other political causes
they support such as the case of Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Up and Coming Irish Bands
Wilt |
Wilt are a new band formed from the ashes of the excellent Kerbdog, with only one
change in the three piece. Wilt's guitar based rock is similar to that of Kerbdog, but they
still sound like a whole new band, apart from Battle's distictive singing. I've seen them play
live twice and if you ever get a chance their worth a look. Their album Bastinado was released
in July and if you hurry you'll get a bonus CD with different radio sessions on it. The
officicial Wilt site is www.wilt.ie. |
Chicks |
Chicks have been around for at least 2 years now, and you might remember them from
a feature in the Culture section of The Sunday Times a while back, touting them as the next big
thing, although they seem to have dissappeared off the face of the planet since then. They're
a young all girl three piece band, who play a kind of simple catchy punk rock. Hopefully they'll
surface again. They only site I could find with anything substantial on them is
www.punkgirl.co.uk/chicks/main.html,
which has news articles, realplayer songs, lyrics, band profile etc. along with a mailing list
if you're interested. |
Snow Patrol |
Great guitar rock band from Northern Ireland who released their debut album
Songs For Polarbears this year. See them live if you get the chance. The official website is
www.jeepster.co.uk/snowpatrol/,
with all the usual bits and bobs. |
Watercress |
Very talented Belfast band, with a very colourful and all round funky website. The
address is www.watercress.net/ and you can download
loads of full songs, music clips and video clips there. |
