Listen, Adolph, this is satire. Put that swastika armband away. I shouldn�t have to explain, but here�s why this is crazy� |

1. First and foremost, there is absolutely no system in place to make this work, even remotely. There is no way to determine before the fact who might abuse children. There is no way to issue even the most basic questionnaire in a universally fair manner and no way to determine who is being truthful. While it is possible to sterilize and de-sterilize people, there are no resources to do this on a nationwide scale. Plus there�s no way to prevent mistakes, unsuccessful sterilizations and unsuccessful desterilizations making this no longer an across-the-board plan, but a flawed bureaucracy. |

2. Given the shortcomings of this system, there is the inevitable temptation to alter it so that it�s at least workable on a small scale, i.e., taking away the reproductive rights of child abusers and sex offenders. That might sound fine, but are you prepared to start down that road? Aside from the falsely convicted, is there a guarantee it will stop there? Is it okay to sterilize potential child abusers, such as those who are convicted of the possession of child pornography? Lots of big brother issues, considering the actual convicted offenders are most likely not going to reproduce substantially after their crimes are discovered anyway. |

3. No matter how well-constructed a system of law and accountability is intended, it is next to impossible to prevent the issues of education and poverty from affecting the participants of the system and these elements are unfortunately, today, in this country, tied undeniably to race and culture. Unless our system of bureaucracy and capitalism is substantially revamped, minorities and the poor will always be unfairly kept in more challenging circumstances than the wealthy and privileged class.* |

4. Speaking of which, there is absolutely no way to prevent rich white people from circumventing any law (or black people if they have the money to hire Johnny Cochran and F. Lee Bailey). |

(*This is ironic considering the main focus of my diatribe, child molesters, are almost exclusively white, middle class men in their thirties and forties. However, your wider range of sex criminals, abusers and rapists is a little more culturally inclusive, but still almost all males. Perhaps the focus should be doing away with men. Actually, a few years of sperm bank donations would make men permanently obsolete. Imagine, no more rape, abuse, war, senseless territorialism, farting with impunity� Oh, wait, I�m a guy. HEY! Forget I said all that.)
So c�mon, forget about it. Stupid and dangerous people will continue to have too many children and there�s nothing we can do about it. Except to promote education and culture and elect representatives who value these things as well. And to be kind and loving to one another, helping to create a world of tolerance and understanding. With less focus on war and policing aggression, our resources can be redirected to the kinds of humanitarian and educational initiatives that will facilitate a world in healing rather than a population doomed to destroy itself. And healing starts with love, not domination. And speaking of domination, it�s too bad about all the free sex. That was my favorite part of the plan.
