Project 64
Page 2
Moving right along on it, I've gotten all the fenders off the car, as well as both lids.  Even with using a TON of penetrating oil, I managed to rip out a total of 4 bolts for the fenders.  Could have been worse.  Welding four nuts into the fenders, I can handle.
The trunk area has been stripped out, and, until I get a shop vac, I had to use 'Plan B' to get all the dirt out of the trunk.  I swept it out with with a broom.  I pulled the gauges, switches, and all wiring out of the dash.  That hole in the underside of the dash will have to be filled, but, luckily it's only cut where the metal is actually flat, so it shouldn't be too tough to fix.  There's a few screw holes for 'accesories' that the PO installed that will need to be filled.
I'm really eager, and can't wait to clean out the floor area of the  pan.  That might be my favorite part of this whole project.

In getting the dash stripped down, I decided to leave the steering wheel in, in case I need to move it around some more.  A hole on the right side of the ash tray needs filling, all the rest of the 'aftermarket' ventilation holes are on the underside.  Something wierd I found while digging  out some of the dirt, there is a big hole in the tunnel, like the PO thought it would be a good idea to be able to get to the shifter stuff easier.  I'll have to look closer, and make sure nothing is Jerry-Rigged.
Here's the next area to be worked on.  I dont have a sand/bead blaster, so, a wire wheel will do most of the work.  This will be the next area that I work on after stripping the body down even more.
Here's the part of the rear apron that will need to be straightened out.  Shouldn't be too tough, only needs to move about a half inch, or less.

Oh joy.  This should be fun.  I like this shot of the interior, looks pretty cool.  I especially like how the daylight is shining in through the holes in the dash.Yanking all the old headliner from the bug almost kills me with the amount of dust that it brings down with it.
