Project 64

Using a paper template that I copied off one of the stock fenders, I was able to mark the holes for the turnsignal so it would be in the exact same place as stock.  For the other fender, I just flipped the paper over.  I used the holes in the stock fender to determine each hole size with my drill bit set.
Finishing the fenders to accept the stock components
When drilling through fiberglass, only drill a very small hole in the forward direction for your pilot.  Everything else has to be drilled in reverse (Counterclock-wise), otherwise it will give you a gnarly looking hole where you wanted a clean finish!!
To make sure the center hole was big enough, I test fitted an old turn signal seal.  To make the larger hole in the center, I played connect-the-dots with a small drill bit, then connected them by running the drill through them.  You dont see the hole once the signal is in place so as long as it's close, it's good.  And with my signal assembly in place, I can see the signal is sitting right where it should!
And here we go!  Pop in some old headlight buckets, and put the signal assemblies on both fenders, and I can see how it looks.  My car has a face again!  As for the front horn grills, I'm not concerned about having the holes there for them.  I marked in the fiberglass where the horn grills will go, and I will just attatch them after it's painted with some double sided foam tape, then paint behind the grills black.  Why drill a hole if you dont have to, right?
