The Red Cross food truck has disappeared. The neighbors and Lauren called to ask what was going on. They heard it in the trailer park but have not seen them today. Good thing I bought some Groceries yesterday.
I had a small fit today at work because the one Human Resources woman came around accepting donations for the one man who is off sick for 2 weeks. I kind of lost it. I ask her if she was aware that we had been flooded out of our home last week and she said no. I sent my supervisors the pictures they chose to do nothing. I started to go off because I have had 3 knee surgeries in the past 2 years and the Commission has done NOTHING for me like this. I changed my mind, picked up my cigarettes and walked out. Called Murph and went off at him, thank god he is a sweet guy he just said uh-hun.
My office mate told me I was out of line and that they never did anything to help her when she was flooded then proceeded to go on and on about how I got more help than she did when she was flooded during Ivan, etc. SIGH. If I hear how she lost her $48,000 kitchen again. If you can afford a $48,000 dollar kitchen maybe you dont need help.
Awaiting word from FEMA as to whether or they are declaring us a disaster area.
I finally managed to get to the Red Cross disaster assistance table at about 5:50 pm. They gave us $1,100 dollars in assistance for bedding, clothing and storage containers. When I ask about food we were told we needed to eat off the truck.
Sigh, still no sign of the Red Cross Truck.
