OTHER PROOFS and QUESTIONS

THE CRUCIFIX
Catholics use the Crucifix, with Christ on the Cross - true.  Of course, we understand that Christ is risen from the dead and all that, but we also understand that He didn't want us to forget what He did for us.  The cross is sacred because Jesus died upon it.  However, when you remove Christ from the cross, you get the ancient symbol of the Roman empire, a symbol of suffering and dying - a symbol of punishment.

No, The cross with Christ upon it is our reminder of the love He has for us.

PRIESTLY CELIBACY
Catholic priests know before they take the final vows that celibacy is part of that vow.  Nobody is forced to become priests, they choose this vocation freely and of their own will.

Here's a couple passages supporting celibacy;
Matt 19:12 - Jesus speaking: For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb; and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men, and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake.  He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

1 Corr 7:32-33 - But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.

With God's grace anything is possible.  Priests only follow the footsteps of their high priest, Jesus, who for his entire life remained unmarried.

WINE OR GRAPE JUICE?

Easy question; WINE, of course.  Wine was very common in the days of Jesus.  The Bible supports the drinking of wine IN MODERATION.  Jesus, himself, made wine - we know this.  Take a look at these passages - the first couple mention the proper use of wine, the others refer to Jesus' use of wine.
Romans 14:14 - St. Paul states - I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Sirach 31:25-31 - (this book was removed from the Old Testament by Martin Luther) Do not aim to be valiant over wine, for wine has destroyed many.  Fire and water prove the temper of steel, so wine tests hears in the strife of the proud.  Wine is like life to men, if you drink it in moderation.  What is life to a man who is without wine?  It has been created to make men glad.  Wine drunk in season and temperately is rejoicing of heart and gladness of soul.  Wine drunk to excess is bitterness of soul, with provocation and stumbling.  Drunkenness increases the anger of a fool to his injury, reducing his strength and adding wounds.

Psalms 104:15 - and wine that maketh glad the heart of man.

1 Tim 6:23 - Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.

Eph 5:18 - Paul says; do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery.

1 Tim 3:8, 3:3, Titus 1:7 - Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre.

Here are a few verses concerning Jesus;
Matt 11:18-19 & Luke 7:34 - For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, he hath a devil.  The son of man came eating and drinking and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners...

John 2:1-11 -
The wedding feast of Cana.  You can read the entire passage, I'm going to show verse 10 ONLY; And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou has kept the good wine until now.

PRO-LIFE

I've spoken on this subject in other places, but here is where I show what the Bible has to say about it.

Basically, the whole thing goes to the 5th of the Ten Commandments; THOU SHALT NOT KILL (or more correctly if you look at the original Hebrew - THOU SHALT NOT MURDER).

Catholics believe that at the moment of conception new life has begun.  The Bible very strongly acknowledges life in the womb in both the Old and New Testaments:
OLD TESTAMENT
Eccl 11:5 - As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child; even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all.

Gen 25:22-25 - And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus?  And she went to inquire of the Lord.  And the Lord said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.  And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

Psalms 127:3,4 - behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward.

Isaiah 44:2 - Thus saith the Lord that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee; Fear not, O Jacob, my servant; and thou Jesurun whom I have chosen.

Job 31:15 - Did not he that made me in the womb maketh him?
NEW TESTAMENT
Gal 1:15-16 - But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace, To reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the heathen; immediately I conferred not with flesh and blood;

Luke 1:41 - And it came to pass, that when Elizabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost.

YUP, no doubt about it - that "fetus" that is so easily dismissed by politics is a human life - sacred before God.
