Sweet Honey in the Rock

This is a woman's a cappella group, and wow can these women sing.  I saw them in concert and was totally enthralled. They deliver a powerful message in a strong, but not forceful manner.  My favorite songs are the African ones. Why?  Just because I like things that are different.

Moxy Fruvous

This is a great "high energy" band with a twisted sense of humor.  Songs like "You will Go to the Moon" talk about the future and how we will decadently rocket off to outer space.

"Kick in the Ass" is one of those up tempo beats that is fun without the lyrics. However, the lyrics are a list of all the people that we would like to give a good swift "K__ in the A __" too.

Then there is "The King of Spain" which is pure fun.  Supposedly the king  of Spain switched places with a commoner, "And now he vaccums the turf at Sky-Dome, and the Leafs might "let him drive the zamboni."  ( Yup. They are from Toronto, if you missed those cultural references.)

Then there is "No. No Raja. Don't Go Back to Her" for everyone who is in a relationship which they know isn't right, but they just can't give up because of the security it gives. It is a sultry, "mainland Indian" sound that is HOT!!
